funny, light, engaging.i truly enjoyed the writing style and the photos that accompanied the story
Tonello made the kind of major leap in life many of us just dream about, and created a wonderful life and found love by following his serendipitous journey. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is simultaneously an engaging travel book and a witty but kind commentary on American excess. We should all be so fearless in life, and so well dressed. It's cliche, but I really could not put it down. Michael Tonello is funny without trying to be and a great storyteller - you feel like you're climbing those steps in Capri along with him. Mr.
Bringing Home the Birkin is a delightful, fun read - I highly recommend it. I literally laughed out loud at several parts. I hope Micahel writes a sequel. I LOVED this book. I usually do not like reading "memoir-type" books but this book reads like a novel.
She apparently has more than a dozen and made a trip to Paris to purchase the one color Birkin that she HAD to have. anyone who is into fashion or follows the fashion trends will enjoy this book. Enjoyable book for anyone who has been on the "hunt" for that special something that you just couldn't live without. He finally did get around to discussing stocks but his main focus was the Birkin handbag. I recently saw a financial expert on television and silly me thought he was going to discuss the economic situation. Instead he discussed his wife's search for the perfect Birkin.
Tonello is a gifted storyteller with an engaging and spirited writing style. His story also encourages me to take chances in life. Michael Tonello has brilliantly written a captivating memoir/travelogue chronicling his thrilling adventures as a Hermes reseller. To pay the bills, he begins selling his possessions on ebay. That is truly inspirational. After discovering "the formula", he is able to easily obtain numerous Birkin bags at Hermes stores all around the world. Mr.
When his expected job fell through, rather than admit defeat, he instead chose to improvise a plan B. I'm reminded of the cliché, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade".
By feigning a 2 year waiting list, the Birkin has built a renowned mystique. As I read, his rich, vivid descriptions allowed me to experience the luxury, food and sights of glamorous places I can only dream about.
After moving to Barcelona, his promised job falls through. His sparkling wit made this book very laugh-out-loud funny.
I truly loved this very entertaining, fascinating book and I highly recommend it. He soon realizes the luxury brand Hermes, especially the coveted Birkin handbag, evokes a flurry of extremely wealthy buyers.
He makes a nice profit on each bag sold to his rich clients.
